Beauty in Decay

Derelict buildings hold a special beauty and fascination for me; abandoned, decayed, rusty, claimed partially by nature – all these is not depressing, it is beautiful. Despite the howling wind and spooky noises like cracking floor and curtains tapping the glassless window frames, I cannot stop thinking how all these places must have been before they were forgotten and abandoned. Most of these old building have a soul, some have even ghosts playing mischievously with my slightly spooked imagination and making my heart beat faster. A very mystical atmosphere is worth this little bit of discomfort however, as it allows me to record what is still there, before nature conquers all what man has left behind. If you are tempted by such explorations, please take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints.
