New Challenges

It is true what people say that time goes faster when you are having fun. It is hard for me to believe that my transition from a hobbyist to a professional photographer happened over 15 years ago, when I started to work on my very first book. All this time, whether I was photographing, mentoring students, curating exhibitions or writing books, articles or image analysis, I had fun. Recently I started to sit on judging panels. Boy, it is a difficult task! Don’t get me wrong, I love doing it, but whittling down images over and over again always leaves me with this “I wish I could leave some more images” feel. As it is such an emotional process for me, which I engage wholeheartedly and fully with, I didn’t take lightly an invitation to join the judging panel for the prestigious Landscape Photographer of the Year. However, as Landscape Photographer of the Year is such an important competition and it was founded by one of the most respected landscape photographers, Charlie Waite, a photographer that I admire and have learnt so much from over the years, how could I not say yes to this? So, truly honoured and excited, I will enjoy every minute of the process and every image in front of me will get my full attention. Good luck everybody!
