I am a professional photographer and writer living in Kingston upon Thames, England. I am the author of five coffee table books and two visitor guidebooks. Commissions from publishers have played a key role in building my reputation as a seascape, landscape, and architectural photographer.
My portfolio is diverse, spanning sweeping vistas to intimate details, with work that moves fluidly between colour and black & white. From the grand to the abstract, each image is a fresh exploration of form, light, and atmosphere.
I travel extensively, pursuing personal projects and undertaking commissions for a wide range of clients. Working on books is especially close to my heart, and I am always happy to collaborate with publishers on compelling projects.
I have always been captivated by the beauty of nature and the power of art. With a postgraduate degree in botany, my early work focused on the natural world—quiet forests and delicate coastal ecosystems. Over time, the ocean became a recurring theme in my work, drawing me in with its shifting moods and hypnotic energy. At the same time, I developed a deep appreciation for the architectural wonders crafted by human hands. As a result, I am endlessly inspired by the patterns, textures, and rhythms found in both nature and design.
I gravitate towards strong compositions and harmonious colour palettes to convey a sense of place and atmosphere. When photographing the sea, I often abstract the scene, aiming to express emotion rather than document a literal view. On land, I play with shadow and light to uncover hidden forms and visual rhythms. In urban environments, I look for drama—a cinematic, noir quality that transforms buildings and streets into something mysterious, almost mythical.
My photographs and articles have been published in numerous publications and used by multiple organisations. My images have been widely exhibited at galleries across the UK, including Joe Cornish Galleries, The Photographers’ Gallery, OXO Gallery, and The Mall Galleries in London. Many of my works are held in private collections in the USA, UK, and Europe. I am also regularly invited to judge prestigious photography competitions, such as the UK Landscape Photographer of the Year.
Having learned my craft with film cameras—both 35mm and medium format—I now work exclusively with digital equipment. Currently, my gear includes Canon mirrorless bodies and lenses, ranging from wide-angle to 400mm, Lee and Hoya filters, and tripods from Benro and Manfrotto.
The United Kingdom, where I reside, never ceases to enchant me with its rich history, rugged coastlines, and diverse landscapes. Yet, there are other lands that hold a deep photographic allure for me —among them Portugal, Italy, Iceland, and Spain—places to which I return regularly. When I am not behind the camera, you will often find me by the sea—swimming or simply watching the waves roll in—drawn to the ocean’s wild beauty and immense power.
Another passion of mine is wandering through towns and cities after dark. I love the hush of the night, the way light falls on wet cobblestones and reflects in the glass, how history lingers in the corners of grand buildings and forgotten alleys. Whether it is a sleek piece of modern architecture or a crumbling relic, each place whispers its own story—and I never tire of listening.
Photography, for me, is rooted in creative freedom—the freedom to follow my instincts, to chase what moves me, and to continually evolve by pushing the boundaries of my visual language. That freedom, fuelled by endless curiosity and a genuine passion for discovery, is what keeps my work alive and ever-changing.
